1. CMSC Annual Meeting Aims to Improve MS Patients’ Lives
The annual meeting of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers is a reunion of healthcare professionals focused on the treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS). While the meeting is mainly aimed at health care professionals, patients can also keep track of the event since its main purpose is to provide the most up-to-date information on clinical practices and research, and ultimately help benefit patients. Through a comprehensive care model, the CMSC Annual Meeting will focus on basic and translational research, disease-modifying treatments and new and emerging therapies, MS epidemiology, genetics and epigenetics, disease management, symptomatic care, immunology and pathophysiology of MS, neuroimaging and biomarkers, rehabilitation, psychosocial issues, MS collaborative care, gender-specific concerns, advocacy issues, and quality of life strategies.
2. Healthcare Professionals Will Increase Their Knowledge
While healthcare professionals are certified and specialized in the treatment of multiple sclerosis, investigations in the field advance fast. By seeking knowledge, physicians and investigators can help in these advancements and improve MS care. During the meeting, healthcare professionals will be presented with networking opportunities, research updates, poster sessions, committee meetings, multi-disciplinary collaborations, exhibits with the latest in products and services, technological advances, roundtable discussions, social events, research and practice awards, and opportunities to build the workforce of the future.
3. CMSC16 Will Celebrate Organization’s 30th Anniversary
This year’s annual meeting of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers is particularly special since it also marks the 30th anniversary of the CMSC foundation. MS patients are often willing to engage in finding a cure for multiple sclerosis, which can be facilitated by the work of organizations like the CMSC. Patients can seek information about the 30 years of achievements reached by the CMSC, which are not only for the organization, but for the whole of the MS community. The annual meeting reflects the evolution in the field and CMSC achievements. “This year, like no other, we will be able to celebrate with one another, learn together, and participate in unique and exciting activities that reflect our members’ learning needs as well as the needs of those whom we serve, our patients and their families,” explained the organizers of the event.
4. CMSC Annual Meeting is Not Only for Investigators
Unlike what one may think, the CMSC Annual Meeting is not only for MS researchers. The activities of the event were planed through the joint providership of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC), Nurse Practitioner Alternatives (NPA), and The France Foundation, and it was planned in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. This means that physicians, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, psychologists, and occupational therapists are invited to attend it. Despite the fact that the CMSC16 is not specifically aimed at patients, they can keep track of the event since it can impact the thoughts of many people around them.
