The latest in multiple sclerosis care & research to be presented at educational conference for healthcare professionals

Registration is Open for the CMSC Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana

The Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC) (www.mscare.org), the leading educational and training organization for researchers and healthcare professionals working in multiple sclerosis (MS), announces its 29th Annual Meeting, which will be held May 27-30, 2015 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

This meeting is the most comprehensive multidisciplinary MS educational event in North America, providing cutting edge research findings and the latest advances in the diagnosis and treatment in MS for all members of the healthcare team.

The CMSC Annual Meeting offers conference delegates continuing medical education credits for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists. Several independently supported satellite programs will also offer additional accredited learning opportunities in multiple sclerosis.

The face of MS Care was forever changed in 1986, when visionary neurologists founded the CMSC to promote the need for a comprehensive care approach to the treatment of the disease. Today the CMSC Annual Meeting continues to advance the art and science of MS care, said June Halper, CEO, of CMSC.

CMSC Member, Dr. David Mattson, Director, Indiana University MS Center, Professor of Neurology, Indiana University School of Medicine; and Past Chair, MS Section, American Academy of Neurology, added, I am looking forward to welcoming my colleagues to the vibrant town of Indianapolis. Nine learning tracks were named by the Professional Education committee covering basic science; psychosocial: cognitive, depression; disease management; symptom management; nursing; rehabilitation; comprehensive care; research; and skills development.

  • The Donald W. Paty Memorial Lecture on How Well Do We Understand Progressive MS Today? by Dr. Alan J. Thompson; Presidential Lecture on Epigenetic Factors in the Gut Microbiome, by Dr. Howard L. Weiner; The John Whitaker Memorial Lecture by Dr. Anne H. Cross; and Meet the Professor Dinner, Social Media and MS with Dr. Gavin Giavonnoni.
  • Special Interest Group content and meetings for rehabilitation therapists, private practitioners, pharmacists, young investigators, mental health professionals, women in neurology, nurses and Veteran Affairs health professionals.
  • Networking opportunities including organized meals, awards ceremonies, poster sessions, platform presentations, speed networking, mentor programs and evening entertainment sponsored by the Foundation of the CMSC.
  • Top exhibitors showcasing the latest products and services for multiple sclerosis care.

The CMSC Annual Meeting is being held in Indianapolis, Indiana, home to the Indy 500. The JW Marriott, the headquarters hotel, is a crown jewel of the Marriott system, recently built to help host the Super Bowl XLVI.
